This summer we have been taking our trade stand to lots of local shows, and we even entered some classes! Little Briar (one of this year’s foals) won best foal at Okehampton show – we were very proud of her.
The team been to Totnes Show, Honiton Show, Okehampton Show and Chagford Show, alongside visiting Tavistock market and Princesshay in Exeter. We took some of our mares and foals as well as our yearling, Nala. Nala loved all the attention and getting extra cuddles off the staff. I would like to thank all of our staff and volunteers who helped at these shows and getting everything ready. A special mention goes to Kevin who drove the horse box to all of these shows!
As well as the little ponies ‘showing off’ some of our bigger ponies have been entered into local shows by some of the grooms. Major and Tiger Lilly have been doing really well at these local shows. Major is 25 years old and he’s been doing well in the veteran classes.
The centre has been welcoming lots of lovely customers through its doors over the school holidays and with a few weeks left we hope the weather will stay dry! Our visitors have loved the relaxed and friendly nature of the ponies.
We are running another competition to find our new cover girl/ boy or family for our 2018 leaflet. Just send us your favourite picture of your day at the pony centre and you may win the competition and our prize.
Finally, the pony centre has entered Visit Devon Awards 2017 and we will hopefully be as successful to be a finalist in the small attraction of the year category. We have also gone through to the next rounds of the Herald Express Tourism Awards.
